What are your plans this year for Valentines? And the next big question – do you meet it head on with anticipation or dread?
I’m the type of person who loves celebrating whatever the case but not in the commercial sense. Saying that, a bunch of blooms is one sure way of getting my affection, but that is enough commerciality for me because there is always the magic of music when it hits the right note!!!
Valentine’s Day is a celebration of love and an opportunity for us to truly reconnect with what this day represents; LOVE in all its forms.
Love should be cherished as it is the most amazing thing in our lives. It is what makes us human, what makes life worth living. After all it is love that makes the world go round. Nothing else truly matters. The size of our homes, bank balances, the beauty of our partner, the speed of our car – all those things pale into insignificance when we face the splendour of what it is that makes us tick.
Love should not be the highly commercialised circus we see on Valentine’s Day. It should be much deeper and much more profound than sending someone a dozen roses at hugely inflated prices. It is much more than expensive candle- lit dinners and fancy chocolates. It’s the action, it’s the thought, it’s the little things that matter. Romance can be shown in so many ways and through music is one of them!

Shakespeare got it right when he wrote, ‘If music be the food of love, play on.’
