Like we already said, Turmeric is considered by many to be the most powerful spice in the world. It benefits our health in many ways but unfortunately it is not very easily absorbed in the body to enter the bloodstream to facilitate its many health benefits.
To boost the absorption of curcumin, the bioactive ingredient in turmeric, you must consume it together with black pepper and some type of good oil such as extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil or some avocado.
Turmeric adds great flavor to your food and is usually added in rice dishes, vegetables cooked in the oven or casserole, in soups and in meat dishes i.e. chicken in the oven. In recent years we’ve seen turmeric being served as golden milk or golden latte.
This recipe is super healthy and delicious!
1 cup coconut milk
½ teaspoon ground turmeric
1 teaspoon coconut oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
½ teaspoon honey
1 pinch ground black pepper
Add all ingredients in a small saucepan, whisk to combine and heat until hot, but not boiling.
Serve and enjoy warm!
